Yamaha Hdmi Optical No Audio Yamaha HTR-6030 HDMI / Optical Audio?

Yamaha HTR-6030 HDMI / Optical Audio? - yamaha hdmi optical no audio

Following my home theater and want to know if it works. My Reciver has no HDMI port. I have my DVD connected directly to the TV via HDMI. So I have an optical audio output to my TV with optical audio to the receiver. When playing a DVD video through an HDMI cable, but I want the audio through the TV to the receiver via an optical audio cable. Is it effective or whether the HDMI is used to close the port optical cable output?

This may work on some TVs, but I can not recommend it. Instead, you need a direct connection with the optical receiver. During the TV audio receiver can take and it would not have can not switch to the inputs of a stereo signal (only because it visually or HDMI does not mean that you should 5,1) Of course, you observe instructions to ensure that Your TV or list the model #.

His theory is good and the TV menu, you choose must be able to audio option to choose namely the optical audio output. However, the best method would be the HDMI connection to TV and optical video directly from DVD-Audio receiver. Back in the TV menu to be able to HDMI audio without having to select the sound of the TV speakers off, but depending on the brand of car TV is for you.

Although it should work, the delay could cause your audio to video and audio out of sync. I recommend optical audio connection from the DVD directly to your audio receiver.
